He has always been a big family man......more important than anything else. Just as it should be of course and yesterday meant all the more to him because it was very much made into a family occasion so it made it all the more special to him.

There is no chance of a Redknapp lounge let alone an entire stand.
There is a very good reason for that...

Often criticise the club but they got this just right Wonderful to see what it meant to Billy Bonds and the response of the fans to him. Bloke looked like he was still fit enough to play as well. LEGEND

When the big screen showed Billy welling up I turned to my brother and said "Poor blokes crying his eyes out" but I couldn't get the words out. So pleased that so many made the effort to get in early.

Long overdue you could argue, but it's a great gesture to a genuine club legend.
I think it was great the majority were there to see it.

If Sky were proper journalists they would have showed the whole ceremony and then when they went back to the studio the host would fix Jamie Redknapp with his beady eye and ask …So, why wasn't your father here? I believe he deviously stitched Billy Bonds up for his own personal ambition.
THE STANDARD OF SPORTS JOURNALISM REALLY IS PATHETIC

it was a great step yesterday bringing all the fans together in this new era for us, together we are strong. As for sky i thought in the past they have been good to us especially when we left UP so disappointing they didnt give some time for the event.

If Carlsberg did football legends.....
This man is immense and has done everything right on how to be a hero AND with so little effort it’s just him being him he hasn’t lived up to a persona he IS that persona full stop. There’s few people who’ve left their mark on. my soul but him and Sir Trev for totally differing reasons have carved a big fucking crossed hammers mark on me.

He looks like a film star, a gladiator. Brooking will always be my fav Hammer, but Billy isn't too far behind.
It kills Redknapp that Billy won't have nowt to do with him.

Great day and tribute to a true legend. Loved it and actually got choked when Billy came out.
Sky sports should hang their heads with that coverage though, watched it when I got home and was shocked at how bad it was. Imagine them doing the same for Liverpool or ManU. Absolute cunts.

jack flash 11:15 Sun Mar Spot on. Disrespectful Cunts.
Fuck me how well did the great man look though.
I honestly think he hasn't a clue how much he means to so many people of a certain age.
My favorite all time Hammer by a mile nobody will ever come remotely close either .
Legend.

Have to admit that I had a bit of a lump in the old throat watching Bill's ceremony yesterday. Long overdue of course and there have been many banging on about the injustice for years.
At last the club got it right and it is good they have made their peace with him. Only four people know the truth behind how those bridges were built and so yesterday had a bit of added significance for me personally. It was good to see.

He looked like he could pull the shirt on again and have a go for us last night. Legend is an over used phrase these days but this man fits the BILL..

The way the Sky commentators talked over it all, mainly about Newcastle, as it was going on behind them, was an utter disgrace Could they not have spared a few minutes to show a bit of respect for the great man? Glad I don't subscribe to the cnuts

HairyHammer 12:19 Have you a list of the players who didn't turn up? The Sky coverage of the ceremony was poor and Redknapp junior tried very hard not to mention Bonzo at all. As for Dalglish's daughter, is she shagging someone at the top to keep the weekend gig she is so useless at?

Don't the club have at least a 10 minute video of todays honouring of Bonzo?
I can only see a few stills on the official site.

I must say how well Billy looked today. Think the last time I saw him was on The Boleyn Boys chat on BT Sport when UP was closing down and he was looking a bit (as Billy would say) tired in the face, which wasn't surprising as none of us are getting younger but he looked a picture of health today.
Wonderful to see the emotion as well and that all seems to have been healed with Billy and the Club as I really thought that the Club had driven him away all those years ago.
